Project: shelter renovation
CBAid is planning a shelter renovation project in the Centre for refugees and asylum seekers Porin in Zagreb
Dampness, dust, corrosion, dirt, bad insulation, bas hygienic condition, are the reality of the accommodation for the refugees in the refugee centre in Zagreb, Croatia. The space used to be a three star hotel. The concentration of dust and dirt, and the hygienic conditions in general, are well below minimal standards required for a person’s health.
“Today we saw 15 rooms that have the most damage and that we would like to renovate in order to show that we care about the health of refugees and to emphasize again that they are not forgotten and that they don’t have to live with mushrooms just because they are refugees. Therefore, CBAid will take necessary steps and help those people,” said Elvis Džafić.
Cost assessment and the plan for the renovation are being made and will be available for all to see on our website. Also, we invite all people of good will in this time of Advent and Christmas spirit, when they buy presents for their loved ones, to take a moment and remember the refugees and their life in persecution and join in and donate for the renovation of the space for the refugees.
